Pardon my fear of the dark
I had forgotten to mention my fear of the dark to neither Ciel nor Sebastian, because when I returned to my room it was pitch black. I guess no one heard my screeches, or perhaps ignored them, because no one came. So I simply wept in the dark for hours, until I gathered enough courage to trace the walls to Ciel’s room (which I had noted the location of prior to darkness). I knew he wouldn’t want me there, but he appeared to be sound asleep, and I was cold and scared.
This never happened at my manor, because Hannah always made sure to keep the candles lit throughout the night.

Alois trotted around the staircase, spinning around the columns supporting it. I massaged the bridge of my nose in irritation. “Could you just- not touch anything, for like- two seconds, PLEASE?”
Alois squeezed his eyes shut and stuck his tongue out at me. “I’m not breaking anything, am I? So why are you so uptight? Loosen that bowtie of yours, will ya?”
I glared at him. It was hard to believe this kid was an Earl; his manners were foul and he didn’t show any potential in improving England in any sort, whether or not he inherited a company.
“Dare I ask why you’re here again?”
“I told you, business!”
“What sort of business? It’s my manor you’re planning on staying at, and I have the right to know!”
